My Photo Project
The Second Part of My Photo Project
And this one was a little easier, since I only had one patient girl who likes to pose and no bunny to work with 🙂
But let me step back a bit. When I was searching for a girl portrait I spent more time than on a boy one. I loved so many of them.. But I had to find one from the same era to match (thinking about decorating my wall with large canvases). So after a couple of days of searching I decided that this is the one. And how surprised was I when I realized, that it is done by the same great artist!!! Henry Raeburn, about 1810, ‘Girl Sketching’. I love everything about this painting! I can’t stop looking at it…
And here is my modern version of it. Sophia was such a great model, she posed for many long minutes tweaking just a little turn of the head, movement of the hand, elbow… But the face expression was the hardest to get from a girl who is posing so hard to get everything right to keep her mama happy.. And in a split second she got it! And then it was gone.. BUT I did get it on camera. Thank you, my little hard working girl! It was so worth it!
A HUGE thank you goes to Ellie Pomianowski with EDIFY – Costumes and Set Design for Photography and Events who sewed this beautiful dress for my girl!! If you need anything sewed – ask Ellie, she’ll do a great job!!
Sophia got a haircut the next day too – she was tired of her long hair, and I miss it already…
