This is a third post in a series ‘Thanking the Small Business of Orlando’. I would like to recommend some small businesses in the greater Orlando area. All the businesses I write about I know and use personally, so I my recommendation comes first hand. You can see the first blogs posts here and here.
Visiting Panacea Salon & Day Spa is always a treat for me! I love the atmosphere, everyone is so friendly and professional. Whatever you need in order to maintain and enhance your beauty – they’ve got it! An esthetician, massage therapists, hair stylists and nail techs! I have enjoyed their services for a while now and it is the time for me to introduce them to you.
I love this personal message from Jenya Kimlat, the owner of the salon and a very talented and experienced esthetician. She sent me this note after I visited her salon for a photoshot. “Like little children on portrait day, we gathered around Tamara to have our pictures taken, politely taking turns and curious to see the results. …I can’t wait to see Panacea Day Spa, a place so special to me and the people I work with, through the eyes of am amazing artist. We come here every day, ready to meet new people, and to take care of the ones we’ve come to know over the years.”
Here our interview, so you can get to know Panacea Day Spa and Salon better:
Does your business have a stated mission statement, the reason that this business exists?
In Greek Mythology, Panacea was a goddess of Universal remedy, and while I won’t equate myself to a goddess, I would like to think that when it comes to making people feel good and helping them achieve their inner peace, while getting an outer glow, we’ve got the remedy.
How has the business evolved over time?
Virtually unknown, we started with me as the esthetician and I had a stylist and a nail tech. At this time I have four stylists, two massage therapists, two estheticians, two nail techs and a salon manager.
What should a client expect when he/she comes to you?
Expect for us to ask you questions and pay attention to what matters to you. Whether you are ready to change your hairstyle, have a kink in your shoulder that needs to be worked out, or maybe you need help making the eyebrows look alike, we will listen. We will listen, and do what you ask, not what we think is right, but if you would like a professional opinion, we are here to offer that as well.
What makes you so unique?
The building we are in, was built in the late 1800’s and is part of the Historic Longwood, so as soon as you come through the door, you are surrounded by charm, that is so often lost in the wave of current trends. When it comes to products and services, we also don’t look for trends, we look for what works best for our clients. This means carrying products like Eminence Organics Skincare, Oribe, Milk Shake and Keune. Most importantly, everyone who works at Panacea is unique. We have four different languages spoken in the salon, we vary in age, shape and our lifestyles, but we are all there for each other, and ultimately for our guests.
What are you most proud of with your business?
Everyday I am reminded of how fortunate I am when it comes to my staff. Trust is very important to me and I feel like I can always count on them. We have very low turn over, so you can expect to be with the same therapist every time, which speaks to their consistency and commitment to the clients and the business.
What community events do you support or sponsor?
Charity should be an essential part of every business. We donate gift certificates to numerous events throughout the year. Our clients know, that when they have a fundraiser, they can count on our support
