Family Portraits as an Important Component for Blogging
We’d like to introduce you to the beautiful Hodge family: Whitney, Jaquan (Jay) and their sweet little boy! They contacted us because they needed updated family portraits. The second we met them for the in person consultation we fell in love with this young family. They are sweet, loving, just a pleasure to be around and to say the least – beautiful!! They chose to do both a casual/formal (it’s a thing – we say so!) studio look as well as a more relaxed outdoor shoot.
These globetrotters are based in Orlando but they travel EVERYWHERE! They actually run a travel blog, where you can follow along with them as they add to their country and state tally – at the time of this writing, their number of countries and states visited both happen to be 30! Keep up to date with the Hodges by subscribing to their newsletter. You can also learn more about each of them as individuals and about their travel mission!
Clothing As Souvenirs
Some things they like to do in a country visited (and please note that layovers in an airport don’t count as a visit!) are see a sight, eat in a town, and buy a souvenir, often a piece of clothing. We love that they chose one of their favorites for their shoot!
Making Travel a Family Priority
They take their sweet little boy with them on their travels too. Look how cute this little one is – we just want to hug him!
We loved seeing the love this family has for each other – it’s always our favorite part of any couple or family shoot of which we are honored to be a part.
Travel As A Way To Connect
We asked Jay and Whitney to share a couple of words with our audience.
We have a true and deep passion for traveling and experiencing the world through direct exposure. Some things are best left to be seen in person, rather than be heard about by others. As we began our world travels about 8 years ago, we became addicted and constantly wanted more. In addition to the urge to travel, we noticed residual benefits that manifested and blossomed after each trip. Our family bond deepened and our relationship solidified. We became more connected and entwined with one another.
Fast forward to the present time.
We see a continual downward shift in society and social media, and noticed that 90% of the content we were surrounded by was negative and discouraging. To combat that, our family vowed to make a difference and influence our circle of friends and family. We set out to establish a mission to change and also establish a vision.
Our Mission is “To make everlasting memories and connected moments that inspire action and growth.” Our Vision is “To restore humanity back into the family unit”. In order to do so, we created our website www.Mappedmemories14.
com to serve as a medium for us to display our travels, provide traveling tips and share our journey as a family unit. We sought out to inspire our peers to do more as a family and to once again resort back to traditional ways of strengthening our communities.
Jay and Whitney also share tons of travel tips on their site, plus country/city reviews which include what they really liked about a specific location as well as what they’d do differently. We’re so happy to have met them and found such a resource – right here in our own backyards!
